Just when you thought you were safe...

You'd think these were your regular old bread crumbs - okay, regular old Japanese bread crumbs anyways.

Think again. Flip the bag over...

You don't see it? Here, take a closer look:

They're the CRUMBS OF DREAD!!! OH NO!!!! RUN! HIDE!!;-)

Dun dun dun... (bodeful movie music)... the crumbs of dread! There's got to be a website collection to submit that photo to!

Oh, god...Matt and I loved to shop at the Ranch 99 near our place in Oakland. You never knew what you'd find (and often? After you bought it, you still didn't know what you had), and the best part was trying to read the labels! We'd get stuff in Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese...you name it. And all horribly translated. Hightlight of the trip!

I wouldn't eat those if I were you, it may be a literal translation. Funny!

That's so funny because my mum just bought me something from an Asian grocery with the most hilarious English as well, and I was about to post about it!! I'll do it now!
Incidentally, have you ever seen the site:

Hilarious!

Tee hee! Out of a horror movie, edible version of Little Shop of Horrors.

In any case, happy Easter!

This is such a hoot. Your title reminds me of a campy old film from the seventies, "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes". The tag-line for that movie was "Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the supermarket..."

It also reminds me of a trip to Mexico some years ago. A lot of the restaurants had menus in English for the tourist trade, and the translations were hysterical -- I wish I could remember them.

Zarah - I was going to mention engrish.com, but Niki already did! My husband forces me to check the site at least twice a week (and he laughs at me!). How about this?
