Pasta Mania?

I mean, really: who NEEDS 9 different kinds of pasta?

UH, ME, ME!! WO-HOO! Over here! *waving like crazy*! I DO!!

Just in case you wanted to know, they are, from left to right, top to bottom:

Penne Rigate - Galletti - Fusili - Tortiglioni

Spaghetti - Tripoline - Puntalette (the little bag on top) - Fusili Longhi Bucati - Lasagna Larga Doppia Riccia

- as if that's not enough, I've actually got several bags of some of the varieties - enough to bring me to the grand total of 15 WHOLE bags! And two half full bags... and a jar... And it's not like it's just the pasta - there's also these - remember? I just can't help myself with all those shiny bags, bottles and jars at the supermarket, in the specialist shop, at the green grocers...

"My name is Zarah. I'm a stockpiling-oholic." There, I said it, it's out in the open. Whew!;-)

Hi Zarah! I completely understand and no, 9 different kinds of pasta aren't crazy ;)
N. and I love pasta and the variety of combinations of pasta and sauces. Not every type of pasta works well with every sauce, so I think its absolutely legitimate to call 15 bags your own...way to go ;)

I make a point of having as many differnt shapes of pasta as possible. I mean, I can't fill my pasta jars with the same kinds, now can I????? NO! I can't. Must have fun shapes...

At the moment my pasta collection isn't TOO out of control -- only about 7 or 8 varieties, I'd say. But on the subject of general stockpiling...well, all I can say is that if we ever needed to hole up indoors for a period of time, heavens forfend, we could survive for quite a while.

I'm so happy I'm not the only one!!:-) And don't even get me started on the beans and spices - or the rest of the cupboard for that matter...

You can't ever have enough sorts of pasta! :) They're all unique and have their own, special uses.

Hee hee! You remind me of my grandmother who used to hoard everything from canned goods to soap. But she went through two World Wars.

But who wouldn't hoard pasta! All those nice shapes are perfect for different kinds of sauce! One or two aren't enough, you see! ;-)

And as you said, let's not go to spices.
